How to Apply for Marriage Records:

You can apply for Marriage Records if you are one of the following eligible persons:

  • Spouses
  • Other people who have a documented judicial or other proper purpose.
    • You will need an official letter from the agency specifying purpose
  • New York State Court Order.

If you do not qualify, then check under the genealogy records application qualifications.
Identification needs to be submitted by the applicant either by driver’s license, State issued photo ID, passport, military issued photo ID, or two utility or telephone bills.

Submit a copy of your U.S. Passport in addition to the required identification when applying from a foreign Country that requires a passport for travel.
